Lyrics

Note from Jay: I only found a couple pages of the actual physical lyrics I wrote for these
albums. For my albums released after the trilogy, all of the lyrics can be found online at my
websites - including here For Tha Love Album Website
Below are some lyrics I decided to share for this site from Tha Trilogy.

Some Lyrical Highlights of Tha Trilogy...

Beauty From Pain
from the album Solid Steele

A little kid wit braces - unfit - the kids hated - kids waited to see what he had so they
could take it - he was real he couldn't fake it - they set traps he was baited - his spirit
they tried to conquer but a monster was created - from gettin called fat back in days
that was the craze - made 'em feel bad in waves - he was shook (scared) couldn't talk
plus his walk was kinda funny - (he was) put in special ed(ucation) Fred called him
a dummy - plus his father beat him - he didn't have a reason - even punched 'em in
the gut - he got abused by a nut - at lunch he was shout out - no clout to sit wit so
they would clown - the joke - it surround - girls never looked (at him) he was shook
and felt ugly - dismayed from the times they played him like rugby - he (was a walkin
joke - short stalk wit no hope - near the end of his rope plus his mom's mad broke
at night he stay prayin - he say he want to get away - he want a see a better day

CHORUS
Ugly times we all seen 'em in our lives - we taken the dives - it's not too late to climb
the last shall be first - curses flip sometimes - it's funny takin rain might make the sun rise

Bad weather is on 'em - little friends and no ends (money) - to bullies he a target
though they see he don't start it (conflict) - he got into beef like he work the beef market
but then - he felt a little glad - a court order tore him away from his dad - his teeth got fixed
plus his limp not as bad - he started to lift - he mixed weights in his pad (home)  he got
a little stronger - in his crib (home) he stayed longer (lifting) even made a few friends that
was real not pretend - but at the end of the day he stay mad unpopular and days ahead
rockier - they treated 'em the same like they came out a copier - he lost a little weight
put on a little muscle - but still he didn't fit - still ripped and still hustled - at night he keep
wishin - he wanna break out this prison - but still it stay for now - he not proud but got a vision

Now he in eleventh grade - four years of liftin - gifting results is paid - now he got
his body made - some chicks flipped call him "hottie" and gaze - he now in a different
form - mixed anger in a storm - grew his hair - it was shorn (cut) he feel steady and he
ready - time to let his new identity definitely is born - some kids saw it comin they
avoided him wit cunning - some was too dumb and karma got em done in - plus his grades
went up - he feel his ways is not stuck - girls start to like em even start to invite em on dates
he felt great - he place a new grace of fate - kids that used to hit 'em - he see 'em losin
becomin victims - he think back and laugh - times was so drastic - he broke out the
mold and stretched it like plastic - they say smooth seas don't make skillful sailors
and the kid got strong from all the wrongs and the failures

* Note: The "Yeah" vocal in the beginning is a reference to the song "Who's The Master"
from Jay's album "Tha Civil Rights Movement" by Tha Truth (Jay), and that song is a
reference to the movie "The Last Dragon (1985). These tracks were recorded around
the same time period as Jay Steele started rapping under tha name "Tha Truth."

Jay Tha Truthseeker
from the album Solid Steele

If you don't know your history you condemned to repeat - it's true I'm here to mend and spread
the mystery you seek it - cause right now - they comparin Bush to the Nazis - property of war
feels like hell for the poor - you can feel the smell of gore - we can't even look at the pictures
when you go to a site that has the truth there administered - photographic form - captures the
acts is ashes bein torn - the display is gruesome - that's why I speak and say that crews (is)
dumb worried bout themself and they wealth while we lose ones - if ya don't like me you
not for truth you for lies - you for hidin behind the nines (guns) - blockin ya ears to hide your eyes
your fears is all lies - they inject you with their fear serum - you rep (represent) it - you infected
wit lies they use to get the fear in 'em - it's war - I came up (grew) my brain's what's the cure
my name's what I'm for - the fame's not what's more

It's war for the peace - the gore need to cease - I pour truth in the streets - got the youth
in my reach - gotta prove what they seek - it don't move us to peep (see and understand)
the wars I put on trial for peace - what they need to seek (CHORUS)

I've met atheists as bad (zealots) as Christian fundamentalists - and hatin kids - it's sad how they
conditioned in this devil ish (sh*t) - I had to cut off lists who didn't appreciate the fate
no patience couldn't wait - they stay behavin like they great - now oops they got cut off
we see bucks cause it cost - we got bills to pay - you too silly when you play
you can't stay serious -everyday I stay delirious - if sane seein what we seein then your pain
comes from believin - my conditionin (indoctrination) died - lies was grievin - my achieving
stems from them seein the trends change like the seasons - but the truth straight timeless
they say it's great the first time but fate that you rewind this - they say I'm absurd -
'cause on your 33rd time in this - they finally start to find they blind to half my line's fineness
the cries (of pain) why I align this - journalists need to describe this - ya can't see me in ya iris
ya see me in ya dreams - it seems the world just lies in this - this bible ish (s**t) - dividing kids
my sinuses is full - I'm driving at this bull (sh*t) - I'm live in this my pull - follow me
I'm so real - when they hear me they learn - you supposed to be real

Where Da Mic At
from the EP Relentless: Tha Beginning
The first 2 verses are kinda all over the place. Honestly, I feel the 3rd verse is the best by far and that's the only one I feel like posting the lyrics for. Here they are below:

3rd Verse
Metabolically - Hydraulically - Ebonically - Jay a mystery
electronically - shockingly - phonically - makin history
I wish to be atomic - so I can blow this up and shock kids
I swear I'm gonna lock sh#t - (as in get really good)  (dog growl)
no flaws in this - I'm knockin kids - I come mad original
no more am I a criminal - the subliminal - seminal
your pens are dull - you ain't the whole package
the rap biz - ain't even feelin you cat - I got heads turnin
while you learnin - ears burnin - I make you all say "who dat?"
the cat - Jay Tha Mad Dog - leave days in a blaze of fog
but yo god - my rhyme log is so f*@kin odd
like (Michael) Jordan (scoring) in single digits
hording this existence - rhymes flash
like Gordon in the m*t@f*#kin' distance
might be different but I ripped this - like gift paper after Christmas

Don't Stop (Forever)
from the EP Relentless: Tha Beginning

I be that respected rap representative - presentin the hectic
eccentric and eclectic rap styles 'cause I get this
this world is hectic - leave a mark when I wreck it
so call me the best kid (ugh early immature arrogance)
get me elected I'll speak out like a prophet
whack rappers get knocked wit - laughs as I lock it (excel)
on top of the world - I make heads spin and twirl (impressed)
committed individual to rap and my girl
if you ever want fire then come get me cause I got that desire
if you ever step to me consequence equals dire
get rolled on tires - I light up like a wire if you draw my ire
a long time from now is when I plan to retire (got that one!)
skills can't be measured - buy my tape for your pleasure
for your ear I'm a treasure - in a '97 Jetta
givin in to sh*t never - makin hits to forever

When I set it I get out the strong rap
when I let you can check out the long rap
so I'm ill - I stick around like oil spills
in the end you never forget me cause I'm stuck in your head
like Nike and McDonalds - I don't clown around like Ronald
I'm a killa like a gorilla but I found a better way to get the
scrilla (money) and I'm iller than a burned beaver
with a 100 degree fever - the heater - I'll make you a believer
I could rock the chair of a 100 year old geezer - like a cleaver
I cut beats - make you wanna see Tha Mad Dog
I amaze crowds like god I'm so odd - I been down for so long
so now it's time for me to get on (the scene) I blow up (excel)
like the scene caused by the accident of two trucks
in a collision - if you had my vision your brain cells would be
risen like a genius and I don't like in my flow god
so I mean this - talk to me long enough you'll think I'm
far out like venus - mess with me your destiny is to
eat with intravenous - the kids I went to school wit
I bet they can't believe this

Like time I don't stop when it comes to the art of makin
hip hop - never flip flop - when it's on it's a battle
I graze in green like cattle tryin to describe me
that's when people start to babble - when it comes to hard
work you can call me a masonary(like a bricklayer)
infinite vocabulary - I'm on top of my game like a drink
with a cherry - in other words I'm very confident
loaded wit common sense built like Apocalypse (comic villain)
my grip on the mic is tight so I ain't never droppin it
bring any type of barrier - you still ain't stoppin it
numerous topics - spittin (rapping) forever rockin this
the hottest anthologist - the anthropologist
married to hip hop - and I'm monogamous
ask about divorce - that's preposterous
'cause me a hot track and danger is synonymous

* - the song title above also contains the hook/chorus lyrics
